Where is VanBuskirk Acres located?

We are a small family farm located in Britton, Michigan. VanBuskirk Acres is also our private family home, so we are not open to the public for general farm visits or tours.

Do you have a physical farmstand?

Yes! Our little farmstand is located here on the farm and carries seasonal items as they are available. Because availability changes throughout the growing season, I recommend checking our social media for current updates before making a special trip.

Can I visit the farm or see the animals?

For the health and safety of our animals, we do not offer farm tours or allow visitors into our animal areas. Biosecurity is very important to us, especially with poultry and livestock.

What do you raise at VanBuskirk Acres?

We've downsized quite a bit from our poultry-breeding days, but there's still plenty going on around here! We currently raise several breeds of chickens, ducks and geese, along with Boer/Nubian-cross goats and pigs with Juliana, Kunekune and Idaho Pasture Pig bloodlines.

Do you still breed and sell rare poultry?

We spent several years raising and breeding rare and critically listed heritage poultry, including breeds on The Livestock Conservancy's Conservation Priority List. We have since downsized and stepped away from operating as a small hatchery so we can get back to simply enjoying our farm.

Are your products really made by you?

Yes! The handmade products in our shop are made here in small batches rather than mass-produced. Depending on the product, I use herbs and other ingredients grown or gathered here on the farm whenever possible.

What kinds of products do you sell?

Our shop changes as I make and grow things. You'll find items such as herbal teas, soaps, salves, balms, bath salts, handmade home goods, woodworking and other farm-inspired creations. Seasonal produce, eggs and other farmstand items may also be available locally.

Are all the ingredients in your products grown on your farm?

No. I grow and use many of my own herbs, flowers and other ingredients when possible, but not everything can be grown here in Michigan or produced on our small farm. When I need something we don't grow ourselves, I purchase it from outside suppliers.

Are your herbal products intended to treat medical conditions?

No. Our herbal teas, soaps, salves, balms and other handcrafted products are made for everyday enjoyment and personal care. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or medical condition.

Are your products made in large batches?

No. I prefer making things in small batches, which allows me to make what we need rather than mass-producing and storing large amounts of inventory. Because of this, quantities may be limited and some products may sell out.

Do you ship?

Yes. Many of our handmade, non-perishable products can be shipped within the lower 48 United States. Items such as fresh eggs, produce and certain farmstand products are available for local pickup only.

Do you offer local pickup?

Yes. Local pickup is available for eligible products. Pickup instructions will be provided with your order. Because VanBuskirk Acres is also our home and working farm, please follow the pickup instructions and remain in the designated customer area.

Why are some products only available seasonally?

We work with the seasons. Herbs need to grow, gardens need to produce, hens don't always lay the same number of eggs, and sometimes Mother Nature has other plans! Because we're a small farm rather than a large commercial operation, availability naturally changes throughout the year.

Who runs VanBuskirk Acres?

I'm Stacy, and I handle much of the day-to-day farm work alongside our youngest son. My husband, Leonard, works full-time as a concrete truck driver and helps with the farm and its never-ending projects when he's home.

Can I follow your everyday farm life?

Absolutely! VanBuskirk Acres isn't just about what we sell. I share the good, the messy, the funny and the perfectly imperfect parts of farm life on our social media pages.

How can I contact you?

The easiest way to reach us about an order or product is through the Contact Us page here on VanBuskirkAcres.com. Please allow us a little time to respond—we're usually somewhere between animals, gardens, projects and everyday life!
